For 10...30 seconds, whenever a Chant or Shout ends on target ally, all foes adjacent to that ally are set on fire for 1...3 seconds.

This is just too good, when used especially with skills like fall back (another superb skill), crippling anthem and go for the eyes. Use it as you would balth Aura - stick it on a warrior or two for pushing and ward camp punishing, and use it on a monk or two to make their warriors think twice about beating on him. I use it in a build with 5 shouts altogether and the nett effect is of lots of enemies being constantly (near permanently in some situations) being on fire

Searing flames and Ramapge as One: take them or die.

Monks are interesting - I like glimmer of light only if the spec in healing is high. It lets a monk take mending touch instead of healing touch.

For GvG, my new favorite backline is a glimmer/infuse/spirit bond with an RC/GoH. Channeling and hex breaker, please.

Ether prism. Gain 0...2 Energy for each point of Energy you have (maximum 50 Energy).

In other words: what's the point of ether prism without any attribute points in energy storage?

BTW: there's a new smite elite (again...): master of magic...

The skill is bugged. You get 50 energy regardless of attributes and current energy. I would post a screeny if I wasn't at work, but using a monk/ele last night (which clearly doesn't have any energy storage), I could lower my energy down to 25, hit ether prism, and gain 50. We lossed to iQ last night partly (or largely depending on your perspective) because they were using several broken elites including Ether Prism. I had someone in Alpha report it last night so it should be fixed soon since it is a pretty big flaw...until then...abuse having 11.5 pips on your monk!

On the smiter, it is a possibility. One that has been proven effective already by QQ is D/Mo with Arcane Zeal.

i've adapted my glimmer monk to mirror QQ's new boon prot build, except with glimmer in place of RoF and power drain in place of energy drain. works like a charm.

major weakness is hex removal. but since this build will get paired up with a BL monk, it's not a big problem.

I really don't like Arcane Zeal: you need at least 4 enchantments to make it work thus limiting utility a lot and having to spend 7-8 energy every 12 seconds isn't that great either...

Master of magic is IMHO a better energy machine for a smiter: if you keep zealous fire, MoM and balthazar's aura recharging, you'll gain 6 energy (-1) whenever you cast a non-smiting spell. Only problem: a downtime of 6 seconds every 30 seconds (if you're using a +20% enchantment weapon set).

Reaper's sweep. It puts the stun on people. +40 damage, deep wound if under 50%.

searing flame is one skill that i don't mind using on primary ele over mesmer primar and secondary ele.
Reason, more flexibility with recharge, + casting time is not bad at all. I like the damage increase that those 4 attributes in fire line do.
Been loving this and blinding surge.

If anyone cares: I ran extinguish today, it works great vs all the searing flames teams.

Ether Prism was fixed on the unposted update on the 31st.

Edit: And ether prism kinda sucks because you have to invest 12 energy storage. To steep of a cost imo.

Extinguish is a good counter to searing flames. Also i like "They're On Fire!" because combined with flaming anthem (w/e name is), blazing finale, and a couple searing flame ele's and u can keep burning on alot. I saw RenO use it with good success

I chuckle with glee when I see monks with glimmer, because I know that soon they will be dead. Recharge/cast time doesn't make up for this skills so-so healing and when it comes down to it u need the best heal/energy ratio you can muster and glimmer will never be there for you like a woh can be.

89hp/5e constant vs 84hp/5e +106hp(<50%)

I've played it a few times, but I always felt like I couldn't control my energy as well due to the need to spam more when the team was under pressure. This makes channeling positioning a problem since I have to cast more, therefore I can't move around as easily and find the best spot to get back my energy. Spike control also seemed to be a nightmare since a single cast of glimmer will barely take the edge off most spikes, so you will need 2 or 3 more casts to heal them up.

It's entirely possible that we will see a shift to more prot-centric skills given the sheer godlyness of NF skills like zealous benediction, it almost seems reasonable to run duo-prot in halls.

For Team Arenas, Make Haste is one of the best new skills. A 33% speed boost to other ally that recharges faster than it expires, costs little energy, and is not an enchantment -- yes please. Slap it on whomever on your team needs help kiting and you're good to go. This skill puts your monk on equal speed footing with a rampage thumper. Not under much pressure during a given match? Use it on offensive melee character instead then.

You need to combine it with jamei/other for a big heal, too many ppl just tacking glimmer on a WoH build w/ no HO

Try a heal + glimmer for a fast spike works good for me. (Although ive never taken anywhere other than ab yet)

Edit - JR thats what Skuld mean i think. Try somethin like Dismiss, Prot Spirit/Spirit Bond/Shield Of Absorption, Glimmer Of Light, Words Of Comfort, etheral light/orison(something for self and others), optional/Healing Seed(ha)/Infuse/holy veil, Leech Signet/channeling, Power Drain

15 Heals +1+3
10 Divine +1
8 Inspiration (errr dunno if thats right)
Dump in prot +1

Glimmer is better the worse your opponents are. The better your opponents are, the worse Glimmer is. Against the best teams, which are the only ones I care about, I think that Glimmer is weaker than RoF.

Peace,
